Main Collection:
The Provincial Archives holds the records of the Society of the Sacred Heart in Ireland and
Scotland, dating from 1842 to the present day. The Society has a rich history of record-
keeping which is reflected in its archival collections.
Archives represented include:
– Archives relating to the foundation, development and administration of houses and
schools in the Irish/Scottish province and to provincial administration.
– Archives relating to the foundation, development and administration of foreign
missions in Uganda.
– Records pertaining to religious and personal papers of religious, 1800 – onwards.
– The collections contain letters, journals, reports, registers, financial records, maps
and plans and photographs, as well as documents recorded on more modern media.
